Girard Berry - Keyboardist is one of the original members of the MGM Band. He started playing the piano at the early age of 8 at the Fine Arts Music Academy. Like most young children after several years of learning how to play the piano. He wanted to see what the world had to offer. Therefore at the age of 16, Girard put music on the back burner and went out to explore life. At the age of 28 he joined the Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church where he begin to develop a desire to play the piano again, he studied under Rising Star's then Music Director Andrew Braxton III and began to take lessons at the Christian Music Academy, however, is now under the tutelage of L.R. Smith one of the premier pianist in the Cleveland area. Girard would soon get the opportunity to show his skills and compassion of music, Andrew Braxton III moved to Boston Massachusetts to take on another opportunity and Girard took the role as the Music Director for the Rising Star senior and youth choir. It was during this time he met the rest of the members of the band that would become The MGM band. Although, his first love still remains for the church and God he decided to accept the role as Music Director of The MGM Band. Playing music with the band members has become more than just playing music, it has developed into a brotherhood and more like a family than a band. Besides his love of music, he enjoys spending time with his children and serving the Lord Jesus Christ.
